The police in Bergen are asking for assistance from the National Criminal Investigation Service (Kripos) after an apartment block in Arna in Bergen burned down in a fire on Saturday.

A total of 24 residential units were completely destroyed when an explosive fire broke out at high speed in the apartment block. The fire was extinguished on Sunday night.

Now the police forensic technicians in Bergen are asking for assistance from Kripos to find the cause of the violent fire, the newspaper Dagbladet writes.

“We need a search dog with expertise in fires. In other words, a dog that is trained to search for flammable liquids,” section leader in the forensic department Nils Jarle Gjøvåg in the Western Police District noted.

It is too early to say where and how the fire started. No one was injured in the fire.
