Corona update: Bergen registers 19 new infection cases and one death in last 24 hours

A total of 19 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Bergen since Monday, the municipality revealed.

One coronavirus patient at a nursing home has died.

The number of infections increased on Tuesday, compared to an increase of eight new cases the day before.

One corona-patient died

One infected person was probably previously infected with the coronavirus, the municipality stated in a press release.

In some cases, the origin of the infection was unknown, while people were infected by close contacts in other cases.

The infected people are aged between 15 and 62 years.

A patient who was admitted to the coronavirus ward at the Fyllingsdalen nursing home has died.

Number of cases reaches 13,000

At midnight on Tuesday, 13,005 coronavirus infections have been registered in Norway, according to preliminary figures.

During the last week, the total figure increased by 729 cases, according to figures from the National Reporting System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).

Around 941,000 coronavirus tests have so far been carried out in Norway, according to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH/FHI).
