The County Governor will ask Oslo University Hospital for information about what kind of health care the deceased attacker received prior to the events at Bislett on Tuesday.

The County Governor in Oslo and Viken reports that the case will be given high priority.

“It is still too early to say anything about how long we will need to investigate and assess the case. Apart from that, we have no information to provide at this time,” the County Governor wrote in a press release.

On Tuesday, one man was shot by police at Bislett in Oslo after he tried to attack several people with a knife. The man died of the injuries.

The man who was killed was placed in forced mental health care after a knife attack in 2019. The incident on Tuesday happened the day after the man was released on short leave from a health institution.

  1. There is 20/20 hindsight, of course, but we need more 20/20 foresight, and someone obviously chronically deadly-dangerous to society should not be treated as a mere medical case.
His case is ended, and society is safer, in any case.
