A couple who left the quarantine hotel at Gardermoen airport was stopped by the police late Friday night.
“They are reported and will get a fine,” operations manager Svein Walle in the Eastern Police District told newspaper Romerikes Blad.
“They had been abroad for a long time and wanted to go home,” Walle said.
The couple is not the first to flee from a quarantine hotel. On Tuesday, the Eastern Police District informed newspaper Dagbladet that they have so far registered 74 reports of violations of the regulations on quarantine hotels.
The Eastern Police District has previously stated that they do not intend to arrest people who violate the quarantine obligation but that such persons would be reported.
The fine is around NOK 20,000.
