A father has been sentenced to six years in prison for repeated abuse of his two sons 5.

According to the verdict from the Borgarting Court of Appeal in Eastern Norway, the abuse took place from the late 1990s to the beginning of the 2000s, when the boys were of kindergarten and primary school age.

During this period, the father repeatedly sexually abused his sons. He also pressured the two boys to abuse each other.

It was not until 2017 that the mother of the two boys contacted the police after the sons told her that the father had abused them in childhood. Later that year, one of the sons reported the matter to the police.

Compensation

Both sons developed disabilities as a result of the abuse. In addition to reparation, the father was sentenced to pay them compensation for future loss of income.

In total, the man in his 60s has to pay almost NOK 5.8 million.

When the case was processed in a district court in Eastern Norway last autumn, the man was also convicted of violence against the two boys.
