Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to remove Ukraine from the map, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Friday.

“This is total war,” Le Drian said. He fears for President Volodymyr Zelenskyj’s safety.

France is also concerned about a possible Russian military offensive against Moldova and Georgia, he said.

Defense Minister Florence Parly confirmed that France had provided military aid to Ukraine.

“We have delivered military equipment to Ukraine,” she told the French broadcaster RTL.
