The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) believes that terrorist groups are using the corona pandemic to strengthen their power and influence.

“Terrorists, like other criminals, try to profit off of the corona pandemic to make money, strengthen their power base, and create division,” Jürgen Stock, Interpol’s Secretary-General, noted

Interpol’s latest report warns of increased activity among several groups of criminals in connection with the corona vaccination that will start in full next month.

The organization is asking member states to prepare for organized criminal networks to try to target vaccine actors both physically and online.

On December 21, Interpol predicted a sharp rise in crime as criminals try to steal precious coronavirus vaccines.
