According to the country’s Minister of Justice, coronavirus testing people twice a week will be crucial for Denmark’s planned reopening.

On Tuesday, Minister of Justice Nick Hækkerup spoke again about the planned extensive testing campaign in Denmark.

Earlier this month, the Danish government announced that parts of the population must prepare to be tested twice a week.

“Testing is here to stay, and we need to expand it even more,” Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on February 14.

According to the authorities, that should make it possible to reduce the infection control measures and gradually reopen Danish society.

Hækkerup acknowledges that the reopening will lead to more hospital admissions and that it is therefore not an easy decision to make.
