The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has experienced a lot of registration activity after asked Norwegians in Afghanistan to register via a website. Now it is asking Norwegians in Afghanistan to stay calm.

“The situation outside the airport is chaotic and dangerous and a major challenge for safe departures. Everyone is therefore advised to stay calm and wait for more information about the time of possible departures,” communications manager Trude Måseide at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told NTB.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is now working around the clock to assist Norwegian citizens who want to leave Afghanistan by plane from Kabul, according to the head of communications.

Registration

After the ministry issued an invitation to Norwegians in Afghanistan to register on reseregistrering.no, the progress has been great, she added.

“Today, we have contacted everyone who has registered… We are working on transporting people out of Afghanistan and have personnel at the airport in Kabul who, together with the Armed Forces, assist with this.”

“Everyone who is registered will receive information about opportunities for departure. If you are still not registered, we ask you to register as soon as possible,” Måseide said.
