A total of 9.9 terawatt-hours of wind power were produced in Norway in 2020. That is 79% more than in 2019.

This corresponds to the average consumption of around 620,000 households, Statistics Norway (SSB) writes.

Many new wind turbines have been built in Norway in recent years. However, most of the 154.2 terawatt-hours of electricity produced in Norway in 2020 were still related to hydropower.

91.8% of power production in Norway in 2020 came from hydropower, Statistics Norway (SSB) writes in another statistic.

Total production was 14.3% higher than in 2019. Most electricity was produced in Vestland county.
