“My family and I are appalled by the night’s shooting tragedy in central Oslo, where two people were killed and many injured,” King Harald said on Saturday.

“We sympathize with all relatives of the victims and affected people, and our warm thoughts go out to all those who are now scared, restless, and in grief,” the king said in a statement.

“We must stand together to defend our values: Freedom, diversity, and respect for each other. We must continue to stand up for all people to feel safe,” he added.

Nightclub shooting

A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, and terrorist acts after the shooting at several nightclubs in central Oslo on Saturday.

Two people were killed, ten seriously injured, and eleven slightly injured after the shooting. None of the injured have life-threatening injuries, the police stated at a press conference on Saturday morning.

The man, who has been arrested, is a 42-year-old Norwegian citizen with an Iranian background and is known to the police and the Police Security Service (PST) from before.

I visited your beautiful country in 1964 and was very impressed with the people and culture.
I am saddened to hear of the shooting in Oslo. I hope reason will prevail and Norway will continue to be a great Democracy.
    Sincerely,
    Jack Disraeli

  2. So what do you get when one privileged group attacks another privileged group you get ” The man, who has been arrested, is a 42-year-old Norwegian citizen with an Iranian background and is known to the police and the Police Security Service (PST) from before.”
I wonder if he will get 21 years in prison or if it will be heavily reduced becuase its in his culture to kill gay people and if he was known to security services in Norway how did he get a gun with the strict rules on guns in Norway its like criminals dont care about gun rules
