Agder police district received assistance from the emergency squad and helicopter in an ongoing police operation in Kristiansand. According to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK), several people have been arrested.
Agder police district received assistance from national assistance resources in connection with an ongoing assignment, the police stated in a press release.
“At the moment, we do not want to comment on the assignment, but there is no reason to believe that there is any danger to the population,” operations manager Vidar Arnesen noted.
Hostage situation
According to NRK, the police operation was connected to a hostage situation.
Furthermore, the channel reported that several people have been arrested and there is talk that the event took place in an environment known to the police.
Nobody was injured according to preliminary information.
