The police in Gothenburg have charged a person in connection with the explosion that hit an apartment building in the city on Tuesday morning.

The police have not succeeded in finding and apprehending the charged person, the newspaper Expressen writes.

On Tuesday morning, an explosion occurred at an apartment building in Annedal in central Gothenburg. It triggered a major fire that took many hours to extinguish.

Four people were seriously injured, and a total of 16 people were taken to the hospital. Furthermore, 140 apartments were evacuated, and the affected apartment building suffered a lot of damage.

Initially, Swedish media suspected that the explosion was linked to gang crime, but the police say there is no evidence to suggest that at the moment.
