A major outbreak has affected Langerudhjemmet at Skullerud in Oslo. A total of 23 residents and seven employees have been infected with coronavirus, and almost all are fully vaccinated.

“It is the first time since the pandemic started in 2020 that this nursing home has been affected by a major outbreak of COVID-19. The community is more open, and we are as well equipped as we can be, with a high vaccination rate among both employees and residents,” director Helge Jagmann of the Nursing Home Service stated in a press release on Friday.

The nursing home is now working on testing and infection tracing, and infected residents are being isolated. Visitation restrictions have been introduced until the infection situation is under control.

Almost all those infected have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

95% of employees at Oslo’s nursing homes and health centers have been vaccinated, while only a few dozen of Oslo’s 3,400 nursing home residents have not been fully vaccinated.
