Until the situation at Bislett in Oslo has been clarified, the Police Directorate has temporarily armed the police throughout the country.

“The role of the Police Directorate is to assess and implement measures that ensure good preparedness throughout the country.

“All of the country’s police districts have been notified of the situation and will be temporarily armed to increase the police’s preparedness and response capability,” police director Benedicte Bjørnland noted in a press release.

She stated that the Norwegian Police Directorate is following the situation closely and is continuously assessing how the incident affects the police’s preparedness and efforts.
