The police had to block off Grønlandsleiret in Oslo after a report that rubbish in a garbage truck caught fire on Tuesday. The fire was quickly put under control.

“The fire brigade is on its way,” the police tweeted at 10:30 AM on Tuesday. In an update, they reported that Grønlandsleiret had been blocked in connection with the fire.

“A gas-powered garbage truck was affected,” the police in Oslo reported.

Residents in the area were asked to keep windows closed. There was no need for evacuation.

At 11 o’clock, the police reported that the fire brigade was putting out the fire and that there was no danger of an explosion. 

At 11:30 AM, the police announced that the road was open to all traffic again.
