The emergency services were notified of a fire in Nidaros Cathedral on Wednesday night. A woman in her 20s was arrested and charged, but the police are looking for more witnesses to the incident.

Police are looking for people who were in the area between 11 PM and midnight on Wednesday night.

“We want to get in touch with potential witnesses who were in the area around Nidaros Cathedral around the time of the arson, and people who may have been in contact with the accused that evening,” police attorney Ole Andreas Aftret noted in a press release.

On Wednesday, the arrested woman was remanded in custody for four weeks.

The woman’s lawyer Arve Røli says his client denies criminal guilt.
