A wooden door on the east side of Nidaros Cathedral suffered minor damage after a person tried to set it on fire on Tuesday night.
The alarm went off at the emergency services in Trondheim at 11.45 PM, according to Adressa.
A security guard stated that there was smoke inside the cathedral.
When the fire brigade arrived, they found that the front door in the eastern part of the church was on fire.
However, they were able to put it out quickly.
Shortly afterward, a person was arrested near the church.
