Two million people traveled through Norwegian airports in January. That is 120% more than the same month in 2021, but only half of the traffic compared to the same period in 2020.

As was the case in December 2021, the increase in the number of passengers was the largest for international flights, according to Statistics Norway (SSB).

A total of 615,000 passengers traveled by plane to and from abroad in January this year, an increase of 413% compared to the same month in 2021.

Furthermore, 1.4 million passengers traveled domestically, an increase of 77%.

In total, there were 1.1 million more passengers on board departing and arriving at Norwegian airports in January 2022, compared with the same month in 2021.
