Police say they have identified the two dead people who were found in connection with the boat accident at Tokagjelet.

“They were sent for an autopsy in Bergen and have now been identified. We are in dialogue with their relatives,” police task leader Svein Valland Laupsa told the newspaper Bergens Tidende.

The rowing boat accident happened at 9 PM in Tokagjelet in Kvam in Hardanger on October 24. 64-year-old Kjell Arne Pedersen, 72-year-old Nils Johan Bårdsen, and 68-year-old Ruth Wathne were reported missing after their boat was swept away by the river’s current.

On October 30, search crews found a dead person in the river, and on October 31, a new discovery was made in Movatnet.

Laupsa told Bergens Tidende that the main theory is that the last missing person is also in the river.
