Two employees at NAV Årstad in Bergen were transported to the hospital with injuries after being stabbed at a user meeting on Monday morning.

The police have received confirmation from Haukeland University Hospital that one of the two injured died from the injuries she sustained. The deceased is a woman in her late 50s, the police wrote in a press release.

The other person injured is a woman in her mid-30s. The police stated that she had lighter injuries.

The relatives have been notified.

Suspect to be interrogated

The suspect, a man in his 30s, will be questioned by the police on Monday afternoon. The man’s defender, Morten Grimstad, told the newspaper VG that the police would question his client on Monday afternoon.

“I’m on my way to the questioning now. I have not spoken to either the police or my client, so I can not comment on anything,” Grimstad told the newspaper at 3 PM.

Around 1 PM, the police searched an address where the arrested person is registered, the newspaper Bergens Tidende reported.
