Norwegian athlete Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke the current 1,500 world record in the indoor competition in Lievin. He was 0.44 seconds faster than Samuel Terfera’s old record.

Ingebrigtsen broke Tefera’s 1,500m record by half a second to win the race in 3:30.60.

“Great to be back in Lievin. Great arena and a great audience. The perfect place to run fast. It was a good feeling to see that it was a record,” Ingebrigtsen said.

This is the 21-year-old’s first senior world record.
