The monitoring season for wolves is underway. So far, tracks of three wolf packs have been found on snow in Norway.

There has been little snow and only a couple of tracking days so far.

“It is still early, but so far this winter, wolf packs have been tracked in the territories Varåa, Ulvåa, and Kynna, while puppies have been seen in the Mangen area,” senior researcher Øystein Flagstad in Rovdata noted.

Messages and observations from the summer are also actively used to plan and correct the winter’s monitoring activity.

The monitoring season for wolves started on October 1 and lasts until March 31.
