The stands were buzzing with cheering ski fans at Saturday’s big event in Holmenkollen.

“We estimate that about 3000 people came to experience the show today, said the leader of the Holmenkollen Skifestival, Kristin Vestgren Sæterøy. We hope that everyone had an amazing summer evening with us”.

The stage was set when the young skiier Gjøran Tefre seized the victory in the prologue. Heidi Weng was first on the list for the ladies’ prologue. Marit Bjørgen, who was excited to compete with her girls again, unfortunately had to pass on today’s competition due to injury.

“I am not happy about it, but I have to face the situation although it’s not what I wanted. I was very excited to compete here today, and to get a feeling of where I am at, she said to Aftenposten”.

Niklas Dyrhaug won the mens finals, whereas Petter Northug came in second. The prologue winner Gjøran Tefre came in third. For the ladies, Ragnhild Haga won, Heidi Weng came in second and Maiken Caspersen Falla took the third place.
