78 academic communities in Norway have responded to the Research Council’s urgent call for the Coronavirus. NOK 130 million is in the pot for such research.

The project applications have now been submitted for evaluation by international experts, and the plan is that the awards can be made by the end of April, the Research Council writes in a press release.

Most applications come from the universities, but many also come from business, health enterprises and research institutes.

– “It means a lot that we can now finance important and exciting research thanks to the shared spirit of private actors, interest groups and the public. It is fantastic to see the massive mobilization from Norwegian professional communities,” says Minister of Health and Care, Bent Høie (H).
