Prime Minister Erna Solberg met cancer patients and staff at Ahus in Lørenskog on Tuesday afternoon.

The Prime Minister went to Akershus University Hospital on World Cancer Day. In addition to meeting patients and employees, she also met representatives of the private foundation Aktiv Mot Kreft (Active Against Cancer).

This year, the World Cancer Day in Norway had ‘working life’ as a theme. About 40 per cent of all people who get cancer are of working age, according to Kreftforeningen (the Cancer Society).

The number of cancer sufferers increased by around 2 per cent from 2017 to 2018, because we are more people, and people are living longer.
