The National Institute of Public Health is establishing a national infection detection team that will coordinate infection detection efforts when there are outbreaks across municipal boundaries.

“When outbreaks cross municipal boundaries, infection tracing is extensive and requires a lot of work. The new infection detection team will provide assistance to the municipalities”, says subject director Frode Forland in FHI at a press conference on Tuesday.

Recruitment of personnels is already underway. Twelve people are needed in all, and the first ones will be in their positions as early as next week.
