In a letter to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI), the Norwegian Taxi Association asked for taxi drivers to be prioritized when the flu and coronavirus vaccination starts.

In the letter, the Association’s director Hanne Skåle Thowsen pointed out that taxi drivers are in frequent contact with the public.

Thowsen also noted that they have a special responsibility to provide an offer to everyone, especially those who can’t use other ordinary means of transport and passengers in risk groups.

“The Norwegian Taxi Association, therefore, requests that this occupational group is given priority when the vaccines are to be distributed.

In our opinion, this will be socially beneficial, and good use of the vaccines, as the spread of infection could be limited,” Thowsen noted in a press release.
