The jack-up rig Rowan Gorilla VI is to conclude its contract in the North Sea a year early, according Offshore.no. It is unclear how many employees are affected by this.
The company that rents the rig, ConocoPhillips has chosen to terminate the rig’s operation a year early, wrote nettstedet. The rig had an original contract to March 2018, with the expectation of earning 1.3 billion NOK.
– With no immediate opportunities for contracts, the number of rigs we operate in Norway will be reduced from two to one around November, dependent on the completion of the well in progress, it is stated in the internal information sent to employees of Rowan in Norway on Wednesday
