Soon you can forget remembering passwords and pin codes and instead verify card purchases by taking a selfie.

MasterCard is  currently testing card payment with face recognition via mobile in the Netherlands and the United States and plans to introduce it in 14 countries during the summer, writes Financial Times.

By taking a picture of yourself with your mobile phone, which will then be compared to a stored image, you won’t have to verify your identity as a customer with a password or PIN code.
It is also s meant to be possible to acknowledge card purchases using fingerprints on mobile phones that have this feature.
MasterCard are also experimenting with distributing other forms of identification, such as voice recognition and iris scanning, in the hope that this will be methods that will contribute to reducing the incidence of credit card fraud.
