Strong decline in child mortality in Norway
Child mortality in Norway has decreased by almost 70% since 1990 shows a new UN report.
Last year, three children died in five years per 1,000 born in Norway, against nine children per 1,000 born in 1990.
This means that child mortality in Norway has been reduced by almost 70% in 28 years according to the UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), and World Bank.
Children’s mortality is also falling worldwide.An estimated 6.3 million children died last year before the age of 15, the vast majority of those could easily have been prevented or cured (if they had been prevented or cured).
