Warm spring weather continues in Southern Norway

Long periods of sunshine and temperatures of up to 20 degrees – that is the weather forecast for Southern Norway throughout the week.

“The temperature can reach up to 20 degrees in the areas located on the coast in Southern Norway,” on-duty meteorologist Martin Granrød told NTB.

A high-pressure area settled out in the Norwegian Sea, leading to warm temperatures inland.

However, some areas in the north will experience periods of scattered precipitation and lower temperatures until Sunday.

Summer vibes in the south

“The cities that are a bit inland will get the best temperature. We have seen in recent days that Notodden and Nesbyen in the east, Værnes in Trøndelag, and Etne in Vestland have had very good weather,” Granrød said.

The weather will also be nice in the mountains in the days ahead.

“We will get some very nice spring days now. We’ve had some of them already, and the great weather will continue this week. Next week is more uncertain,” Granrød noted.

Risk of fires

“I would like to remind people that there is an increased risk of grass fires in several places in Southern Norway this week,” Granrød said.

Between April 15 and September 15, it is not permitted to grill or light fires in or in the areas around forests and other outfields due to increased fire risk.
