Unemployment increased in July to 5.8%. 164.000 people are unemployed according to the seasonally adjusted numbers from Statistics Norway (SSB).

Unemployment was 2% higher than in February, as demonstrated by the labor force survey (AKU) from SSB.

SSB uses February as the comparison timeframe because that was the last month to be entirely unaffected by the Corona pandemic.

Unemployment increased in July. From February to July 57.000 became unemployed, while the increase from February to June was 31.000.

The number of layoffs has begun to decrease. In July 40.190 people were temporarily laid off according to the statistics. In April this number was nearly 169.000.
