A labour union (Spekter) and employees of the agriculture cooperative Felleskjøpet Agri met on Monday at the State Conciliator of Norway (Riksmekleren), who at 3 o’clock on Tuesday morning found that the parties are too far apart.

As a result, there were strikes from Tuesday morning, which includes 352 employees at 37 branches of Felleskjøpet Agri, as well as Grønt Maskin, throughout the country.

“In the mediation between YS Spekter and Spekter, National Mediator Mats W. Ruland stated that the parties were so far apart that it was not possible to submit a proposal that could be expected to be recommended by both parties,” the statement says at 3.06 AM on Tuesday.
