On Tuesday, 204,000 were registered as completely unemployed, partially unemployed, and jobseekers receiving benefits from NAV. This is 4,200 fewer than last week.

The number of layoffs has fallen by as much as 5,100 in one week. In total, those laid off now make up 2.7 percent of the workforce, preliminary figures from NAV show.

The improvement in the labor market continues. Although so far in September there have been 12,500 fewer jobseekers, there are still more who register as new jobseekers now than before the crisis, says director of labor and welfare Hans Christian Holte.

108,300 people are registered as completely unemployed. That makes up 3.8 percent of the workforce. In total, 7.2 percent of the labor force is now registered as jobseekers with NAV.
