Nav paid out a total of 6.8 billion kroner to persons residing abroad last year. The majority of persons who received the money were Norwegian pensioners .

A total of 83,609 people living abroad received NAV money during 2015.
– Persons residing abroad received 6.8 billion from Nav in 2015. Although this is a lot of money, it still amounts to less than 2 percent of our total payments in a year,  benefit director in Nav Kjersti Monland  said in a statement.
A total of 1.7 percent of the payments from Nav in 2015 went to people living abroad. Foreign nationals who are not resident in Norway, were the recipients of 0.6 percent of the payments.
In 2014  Nav paid 6.2 billion NOK to persons residing abroad.
