About 80,000 Norwegians drive around with summer tires through the winter, according to a new study. – “Worrying,” says NAF.

The investigation was carried out by the motorists’ interest organization NAF, writes NRK.

– “It is worrying when as many as three percent in the survey respond that they do. That is a lot of cars,” says Camilla Ryste, communications manager at NAF.

Malfunctions or deficiencies in vehicles were contributing factors to 24 percent of road fatalities in Norway during the period between 2005 to 2018. Poor tires were a common occurrence.

It was the youngest drivers who come out worst in NAF’s investigation.

-“Drivers between the ages of 18 and 29 are over-represented among those who respond that they drive with summer tires,” says Ryste.
