A record number of expensive homes have been sold in Norway in the last year. A total of 90 homes have been sold at a price of NOK 30 million or more.

Figures from Prognosesenteret show that so far this year, 90 home sales have been registered with a sale price of NOK 30 million or more, compared with 53 homes in this price range in the same period last year, the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv writes.

In total, there were 67 sales with a price of NOK 30 million or more last year, which was also a record year for the number of sales of luxury homes.

Notable increase

“Low interest rates, high savings, and not least high returns in the stock market have made the high-middle-class become very keen on new and larger homes,” senior analyst at Prognosesenteret Carl Christian Mathiesen said.

So far this year, 985 homes have been sold nationwide that cost more than NOK 15 million, compared with 654 sales in the same period last year, an increase of 51%.
