Employees in Oslo and Indre Østfold of the staffing company, Muncitori Bemanning, have been offered 1,000 NOK a week to avoid public transportation and to cycle to work.

For five to six weeks, the employees have had this offer, says the General Manager, Magne Lilloe, to Dagens Næringsliv.

-”Not only do we help keep the spread of infection down, by encouraging employees to avoid public transport to and from work. Cycling or walking has also had a clear health and environmental benefit.”, he says.

On Friday, it became known that Obos offers its employees 750 NOK a month to cycle, scooter or walk to work after Oslo City Councilor Lan Marie Berg (MDG) said that the capacity of public transportation in the capital is overloaded, and after the government recommended face masks on public transportation in Oslo and Indre Østfold from Monday.

Lilloe of Muncitori Bemanning says that few in the company, which has around 140 employees, have so far taken the offer.
