Avinor is stopping projects worth more than 1 billion kroner this year due to the corona crisis. The stoppage will, among other things, affect the new terminals in Tromsø and Trondheim.

Avinor, which is struggling with empty aircraft and subsequent loss of income, is now reviewing which projects to implement, NRK writes.

“Both tax revenues and commercial revenues fall in line with the drop in traffic,” says CEO Dag Falk-Petersen of Avinor.

He says that the list of projects that need to be put on hold is “dynamic and continuously assessed”. Still, he mentions that the expansion of the new terminal in Tromsø and Trondheim will be affected.

It will also have consequences for the expansion of the Non-Schengen terminal at Oslo Airport, as well as a new tower system at the same airport. In addition, the construction of the new airport in Bodø is affected.
