Several of the stores in the Superdry clothing chain have filed for bankruptcy. Between 50 and 60 employees are affected.

“I can now inform that according to the bankruptcy requests, there is a total debt in the retail companies of more than NOK 60 million,” says lawyer Stine Snertingdalen, who is appointed as trustee, to E24.

Several have signed up to buy the estate after the stores filed for bankruptcy on Friday.

“We are in dialogue with several stakeholders, but we are not currently in concrete negotiations with anyone,” says Snertingdalen.

The stores will remain open for the time being, despite the bankruptcy. Superdry has stores in Sandvika, Strømmen, Jessheim, Drammen, Bergen, Oslo and Trondheim. The latter business is run independently and is not affected by the bankruptcy.

The trustee states that between 50 and 60 employees have been affected and that they have been informed.
