Norwegian households’ electricity bill for December has more than doubled compared to the average for the last five years – even when the state electricity package is taken into account, according to E24’s calculation.

The newspaper assumes that the average price for electricity in December will be 177 øre at Nord Pool.

The agreement between the government parties and the Socialist Left Party (SV) states that the state covers 55% of the bill when the average market rate for electricity exceeds 70 øre per kilowatt-hour for one month.

According to the newspaper Aftenposten, that means that the state covers 58.9 øre per kWh.
