The insurance company Gjensidige has extended the cancellation coverage in connection with the coronavirus outbreak. The insurance applies if quarantine is imposed.

“If you are quarantined by the public health system or your own doctor, this is considered to be a disease, even if no illness has been proven yet, and the cancellation insurance applies,” says communications manager Christian Haraldsen of the insurance company.

In such cases, documentation from your own physician or public health care provider must be provided.

Over the past week, the insurance company has received around 1,000 inquiries from anxious customers about the coronavirus. Many are wondering how to behave, and some are worried about traveling in the future, the company said.
