For the second time in less than a year, Coca-Cola is downsizing Norway’s sales department in the company. 42 employees will lose their jobs.

This is confirmed by union representative Lars Ingvaldsen and Communication Director Per Hynne at Coca-Cola to Dagens Næringsliv.

Hynne writes in an email to the newspaper that the increase in taxes from 2018, which was not downgraded in this year’s state budget, and growing border trade, makes it demanding to be a beverage supplier in Norway.

“We are doing this to strengthen our competitiveness and adapt to the development in a market with demanding framework conditions and major changes in recent years,” Hynne writes in the email.

Coca-Cola in Norway has 226 employees in the sales department and a total of 580 employees.
