Coca-Cola stops all advertising purchases from April. The decision applies to both Norway and the rest of the world.
The company, which had, among other things, planned major campaigns around the European Football Championships and the Olympics, explains on the Campaign website that they would rather “safeguard the health and safety of our employees and the communities we are in”.
The company will not say whether the advertising break is a measure to save money, but admits that the postponement of the European Championships and the Olympics next year will affect all plans.
186 of the company’s employees in Norway are now affected by layoffs. Sales have greatly weakened both in the corporate market and as a result of a significantly reduced nightlife.
