Damages for over 150 million by the rain in eastern part of Norway

It enrolled around 2,000 damages to insurers after the flood and storm in eastern Norway. The costs are likely to rise to over 150 million NOK.
– Lots of injuries was especially reported in Oslo, Bærum and Asker.

Lots of injuries reported due to the fact that heavy rainfall hit so many densely populated areas. In many cellars, there have been large amounts of water and more cars are also damaged by the floods.

There is an extensive drought and rehabilitation work in many places, said communications manager Stine Neverdal in Finance Norway to news agency  NTB.
So far, the damage estimated at about 150 million NOK but Neverdal states that this figure is likely to increase.

– Still many are on vacation and some of these will unfortunately receive an unpleasant surprise when they come home. It is therefore still too early to say how much the storm will cost but it is likely to be far more than what we are seeing, said Neverdal.

Saturday brought the powerful storm that spilling water into basements all over Oslo, Akershus and Buskerud. Cars were stuck, both underwater and in queues, trains stood still and roads were blocked.

– Those affected should contact their insurance company as soon as possible, recommended by Neverdal.
