Decline in new car sales in October

In October, 11,932 new passenger cars being registered with a decrease of 9.6 percent compared with the same month last year.

This is 1,265 fewer cars than in October 2015, reported by Information Council for Road Traffic (OFV).

Compared with the average for the month of October the ten previous years, this year’s October figures is 6 percent higher, wrote the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.

So far this year 127,807 new passenger cars being registered with an increase of 2799 cars (2.2 percent) compared to the same period last year.

According OFVs figures 1,365 used cars being imported in October. This is 443 fewer cars than in October 2015.

So far this year 13,877 imported used cars being registered which are 5,105 fewer than in the same period last year.
