Never before has the demand for labor been greater in Norway, according to a labor market survey carried out by the staffing and recruitment company ManpowerGroup.

“We see that Norwegian business continues to grow and wants to hire more people. This applies to all regions and all industries. The challenge now is how we will be able to meet the demand for qualified labor,” CEO of ManpowerGroup Norway Maalfrid Brath said.

The staffing outlook for the first quarter of this year amounted to 32%, which is the highest registered in Norway since the survey began in 2003. The second quarter shows a demand of 29%.

The survey for the second quarter was conducted among 770 Norwegian employers. It shows that the demand for labor continues to increase. 46% of employers said they plan to hire more people, while 16% expect to downsize.

Demand is greatest in the banking, finance, insurance, and real estate sectors.
