Consumption of Norwegians abroad has doubled since the summer of last year, figures from DNB show. This year, DNB customers spent NOK 629 million abroad.
Those are the latest figures for card use of DNB customers for the period from June 21 to July 18, E24 writes. However, consumption is still much lower than before the corona pandemic.
“We are a good 70% below normal on average,” Ine Oftedahl, DNB’s director of data transformation, noted.
The oldest age group (60-79 years) spent the most per customer, while the youngest age group (18-24 years) spent the least.
Easterners are most active with card use, while customers from Nordland and Troms og Finnmark have used cards less.
In Sweden, spending has increased by as much as 219% from the same time last year.
