There has been a decline of 16.3 percent of new car sales since July of last year, such low sales has not happened since July 2009 according to the figures from OFV.
In July, Norwegians bought 9,611 new cars, compared with 11,476 in July last year, the figures from the Swedish Road Traffic Advisory Board (OFV) show.
In June, new car sales showed a growth of 11.4 percent compared to the same month the year before, but the extremely hot summer seems to have stopped buying.
In car sales, there was a slight increase of 42,351 purchased, an increase of 1.6 percent from the previous year.
The three best-selling brands so far this year are Volkswagen, Toyota and Nissan with 11,664, 9,022 and 7,940 sold cars, respectively. The first two have so far fallen last year, while Nissan has sold 3,500 cars than at this time last year.
